In addition to Winnwood Retirement Community at Marietta, two other properties in Georgia are currently owned and operated by Southeastern Retirement, Inc.

A commitment to "Retirement Living at its Finest" best summarizes the mission statement of Southeastern Retirement, Inc. , owners of these three properties.

Founded in 1986, with the development of John-Wesley Villas in Macon, Frank and T.J. Rauls were brought up with a commitment of services to retirees. Tyler J. Rauls, Sr., their father, made that commitment early on when he built the first new nursing facility in Macon, Georgia in 1957.

John-Wesley - Macon would be just the beginning of this new concept called Assisted Living. In 1989, the company expanded its horizons to Savannah with both Assisted Living and Independent Living apartments.

T.J. and Frank Rauls would then search for property in the Atlanta area that would be in keeping with the high standards they had set for retirement living. They were fortunate to find Winnwood Retirement Community. The previous owner would only agree to sell,  after seeing the quality of John-Wesley properties. Winnwood was acquired in July, 1995 and the concept of "Retirement Living at its Finest," began in historic Marietta.

The Rauls' family continues their commitment of "Retirement Living at its Finest" with the involvement of the 3rd generation. In the fall of 2005, Winnwood Retirement broke ground on the 95,000 square foot expansion project of The Teem, a new Independent Residence. Pictured are: (L-R) John Rauls, Amy Rauls, T.J.
